Oatmeal for breakfast

We've heard sooo many times about the benefits of eating oatmeal and yet we still cant bring ourselves to eat a bowl every morning. We would imagine how great it will be if we could at least like the taste of it. Almost everyone that i talked to doesnt like the taste of oatmeal, stating how blend they are and just couldnt do it. I know that because ive been there and gave the same exact reason. I dont like the taste of it either but at the same time would love to gain its benefit.

What we need to realize is that we can fix it! If the taste is an issue we can always make it taste better.

One important thing to note is that you need to cook the oat correctly. If you dont, none of the fixing steps matters. Almost in anything you are making, you've got to have the base be done right like picking the right foundation for your makeup or smthg and oat is the base for the meal.

Easy way to make sure that you are doing it right is by reading the instruction of the oatmeal box. I know this sounds stupid or self-explanatory (depending on how you see the world), but sometimes you forget the reason behind reading instructions! Some oatmeal cooks quickly while some takes more time. So depending on what type of oat you choose, you need to cater the way you cook it. So be sure to double check with the instruction on the box!

Here is how i like my oatmeal to be done.

Ingredient:

1/2 cup original oatmeal
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of water
A handful of chopped dates
1/2 a banana (cut into small pieces)

Basically what i do in the morning is:

1. Mix the water and milk in a small pot and put it on medium heat.

2. Once it starts to get frothy, put the oatmeal in.

3. Stir a little and leave for it to cook. I would use this time to wash my dishes and brush my teeth haha.

4. Once it starts to thickens (half-runny/not fully cook) i would add in my chopped dates. I personally like the taste of date over all other dried fruits. But you can throw in whatever have/like/prefer. Some people like raisins or prunes - these are all fine.

5. Then add the banana. The reason why i would add all of these while the oat is STILL cooking is because i want the fruits to cook together with the oat. Sweetness from these fruits will blends well with the oat.

The dates and banana (the ones fixing the taste of the meal) will be soft and mix smoothly with the oat. I would still top the fully cooked oatmeal with the leftover banana. Tuhan tak suka orang membazir ok!

6. Once its fully thick, its cooked! Some people dont enjoy a super thick oatmeal, you can add a little more milk at the end and stir well.

Why i think cooked banana makes the oat taste better? Coz i like pengat pisang!

Things to think about:
1. You can use 1cup of milk if you want to. I personally dont take milk 1/2 cup is good enough for me.

2. If you are monitoring your sugar intake, you can opt for almond milk instead.

3. Any fruits are fine (strawberry, apples etc.) but have an idea what kind of taste you want to have: sweet or slightly sour. Your choice of fruits, both fresh and dried, will determine that.

4. Dont go crazy with the dried fruits! It contains high amount of sugar (its mindblowing i swear!) so use small amount just enough for you to taste and chew them. Lets keep our oatmeal healthy yea. If you need it to be sweeter add more fresh fruits.

Budak gemuk makan kfc

Haha title mcm ape

Last summer balik msia buat intership. So during lunch time i would go out with office mate as most people would usually do. Slalu pegi kedai basi campur (basi?  nasi). Siapa2 yg dah lama takda kat msia mesti paham betapa syok nya makan lunch kat restoran nasi campur. Tp one issue is amount makanan ak slalu sikit.

My logic: makan byk ngantuk kang dlm opis. Plus ak mmg slalu makan sikit pun apesal nak kene makan byk sbb org lain suh ak makan byk. Lps tu menu fav ak mesti sayur kangkung ngan tempe. Ada skali ak gi amek nasi putih ngan sayur kangkung je. Org igt ak takde duit nak beli makanan hahahahaha

Anyway, ada la satu harini ak ngan akak2 opis ak pi makan kat kfc. Dah brape tahun dah ak tak makan kfc msia weh. Kfc halal kat chicago (yg ak makan setahun skali) tu tak sama langsung ngan kfc msia. Ak drooling abes ar kan haha. So ak pun angkut la set lunch satu. Tgh excited gila nak makan ni.... Akak N ckp "akak dulu pun badan mcm Liyana"

A moment of silence please...

** continue eating fried chicken with teary eyes**

P/s: Akak N tu badan dia level cikeding. Bukan kurus ok cikeding.

P/ss: Ok takde teary eyes pun tp ak tekejut sikit ar tak tipu haha

Makanan orang nak mati

So last night on my way back home from the library, i stopped at a groceries store to stock up some vegies and fruits. Got a little too excited to see buy 1 free 1 sale for packed vegetables. Usually i would go for cheaper option where you would have to cut and clean the vegetable yourself. Tp kadang2 penat la byk pasir (alasan budak pemalas). So this sale was perfect for me! I do buy a LOT of vegetables mainly for my smoothie so sales do help me saves some money. Then i grabbed a bag of apples (mahal gila apple ak stress betul!) and one ripe banana. I always feel funny buying a piece of banana. Selalu org beli sesikat kan ak beli satu ketul haha. But i was planning on having oatmeal for breakfast the next morning so gotta hv banana.

So my friend, whom i walked with to the store got a roasted chicken (one whole chicken okay!) and giant size OJ. And we came to the almost exact payment for our food so i was teasing him "tengok harga brg2 ak sama ngan harga yg kao byr utk makanan kao. Ak ada sayur n epal byk gila." At this point i was trying to prove that i make most value out of that 11 bucks. He replied "makanan kao macam makanan org nak mati. Macam orang2 yg sedar masa dia tak lama and rasa mcm shit ak nak mati dah ni makan elok2 sikit ar. Makanan ak ni makanan orang muda YEAHH kulit ayam gorenggg"

**facepalm**
